Welcome to the American Center!

The American Center (AC) is a public space for visitors to forge their own personal and virtual connections with the United States through access to U.S. information, English language learning, U.S. educational advising, premium technology, exchange opportunities, and dynamic programming in a safe and welcoming environment.

AC is open to the public free of charge. We welcome visits by government officials, academics, students, and other groups interested in information about the United States. Members of the media are welcome to attend public events at AC. However, if you intend to bring in still or video cameras‎, please contact the Media Team at least 48 hours in advance so we can determine whether the speaker is comfortable and, if so, request security access for your equipment.

All visitors must ‎undergo additional security checks of their personal electronic devices (laptops, cell phones, fitness trackers, etc.). These new procedures are being implemented worldwide to enhance the security of U.S. Consulate buildings. Please note that these new security screening requirements, which includes powering on the equipment in front of the guards, will lengthen the ‎wait times for guests entering our space. Guests should plan to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to an event to ensure they can get through the screening procedures in time. Please note that children under 15 are not allowed. Thank you for your assistance and patience.

In the AC, we usually record, film and photograph our programs and activities to promote the AC and the work the U.S. Consulate General does in Vietnam. We regularly use and post these images on our social media platforms. When participating in our programs, you provide your tacit consent for your image to be used in this way. If you prefer that your image not be used for non-commercial publicity reasons, please provide your request in writing to a staff member before the program starts.

Location: 8th Floor, Diamond Plaza, 34 Le Duan Boulevard, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City (government-issued ID/ passport is required for entry).

Opening Hours: Tuesday to Friday, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, except American and Vietnamese holidays.

Library

Periodicals: We offer a small collection of magazines and journals at the AC for reference. We also invite you to read Apple News on our iPads.
