The Ninja 250 measures 1990 mm in length, 710 mm in width and 1120 mm in height

Kawasaki has taken the wraps off the Ninja 250 at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show. The motorcycle looks every bit like its bigger sibling, the Ninja 400.

The Ninja 250 will not be coming to India. The bike was pulled off from the Indian market when the Ninja 300 was launched. While the Ninja 400 will replace the 300 in the Indian market, the 250 will be sold in countries like Indonesia and Japan where due to the tax structure, 250cc bikes are more preferred than 300cc or 400cc motorcycles.

Both the Ninja 250 and Ninja 400 share the same design cues. In fact, the fairing, alloy wheels, fuel tank, exhaust, headlamps and tail-light are all identical to the 400. The only differentiator is the body graphics, while the Ninja 400 gets cool body graphics, the 250 doesn’t. The bike still wears this Lime Green paint scheme, that we love so much.

The Kawasaki Ninja 250 gets almost everything the Ninja 400 gets, like the LED headlamps, LCD instrument cluster, trellis frame, tyres and tail-light. The next-generation Ninja 250 draws power from a 249cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected motor that develops 39 HP of power and 23.5 Nm of torque. That’s quite a number for a 250cc, isn’t it? It’s as much as the current Ninja 300.

The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 250 gets 37 mm telescopic forks (the Ninja 400 gets 41 mm) at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is via petal discs at both the ends and the motorcycle also features dual-channel ABS. Fuel-tank capacity is at 14-litres while the full-faired bike tips the scale at 167 kgs.
