Bài viết này trình bày kết quả nghiên cứu về động lực học tập và các nguồn động lực chi phối việc học tập của sinh viên Khoa Kinh tế Trường Đại học Đồng Tháp. Để thực hiện nghiên cứu này, nhóm tác giả đã tiến hành khảo sát 260 sinh viên đang học tại khoa Kinh tế theo phương pháp chọn mẫu ngẫu nhiên phân tầng. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy đa số sinh viên chịu sự chi phối của nguồn động lực bên trong, trong đó học để “Nắm bắt và làm chủ kiến thức” và “Nâng cao trình độ, mở rộng sự hiểu biết” có sự chi phối mạnh nhất đến việc học tập của sinh viên. Điều này có nghĩa là có nhiều sinh viên nhận thấy rằng sự cần thiết của việc học tập trước hết là để phát triển bản thân mình trong tương lai, còn việc học tập mà để đáp ứng sự mong đợi hay khen thưởng từ gia đình, nhà trường chỉ là vấn đề thứ yếu. Ngoài ra, kết quả nghiên cứu còn cho thấy có sự khác biệt về động lực học tập theo ngành học và theo giới tính. Kết quả nghiên cứu cung cấp những thông tin hữu ích để các nhà quản lý giáo dục của khoa và trường định hướng cho sinh viên có động lực học tập đúng đắn.
